PVmed Launches COVID-19 Screening System to Fight Virus

At present, the number of confirmed cases of pneumonia infected by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is still increasing, affecting people of the whole country. Under the leadership of the Central Committee of CPC and the State Council, people across the country are united to fight the uphill battle against COVID-19.

So what are key auxiliary functions of this system?

01  Rapid screening reduces the risk of cross infection

Nowadays, infections have leaped across the world rapidly while medical resources are relatively tight. The probability of cross infection is increasing by long-time gathering, queuing, and exchanging receipts in the hospital. In this case, PVmed's COVID-19 Screening System, empowered by AI technologies, can effectively assist imaging screening at a large scale. It can conduct rapid detection, location and segmentation of various typical signs of COVID-19, such as ground glass opacity (GGO) and solid changes, providing references for early clinical diagnosis, timely isolation and treatment.

02  Intelligent screening effectively advances the diagnosis and treatment

Based on the rapid and intelligent segmentation, it allows doctors to see the lung lesion intuitively. The screening system can analyze the density of the two lungs and compare the density with the normal human lungs to indicate lung lesions. Besides, the system can prompt COVID-19 risk warnings according to typical signs by analyzing the volume, density and location of the lesion. It assists doctors to judge the type and severity of pneumonia, so as to facilitate hierarchical medical services and coordinate medical resources.

03  Generate reports in accordance with the latest guideline

Combined with clinical signs, the system can automatically generate structured graphic reports in accordance with the latest guideline against COVID-19, assisting doctors to greatly improve diagnostic efficiency and accuracy.

June 29-July 1, 2018, The 9th Chinese National Conference of Nasopharyngeal Cancer was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This conference is hosted by the China Anti-Cancer Association Nasopharyngeal Professional Committee and Sichuan Anti-Cancer Association, and organized by the Cancer Hospital Affiliate to School of Medicine, UESTC·Sichuan Cancer Hospital and the Nasopharyngeal Committee of the Sichuan Anti-Cancer Association. More than 600 experts and scholars from various provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Europe participated in this academic conference to discuss the hot issues in the diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma such as clinical staging, standardized treatment, radio physics and so on. PVmed demonstrated the automatic delineation system for nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy and other AI technologies and products.

Philips released a revolutionary artificial intelligence platform IntelliSpace Discovery 2.0 (ISD2.0). As the only AI partner of the platform, PVmed had attracted great attention from the industry. Its CT/MRI-based automatic delineation system for nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy has been embedded in the ISD platform.
